FIN Resources Secures $3.75 Million for High-Grade Canadian Gold Drilling Campaign
FIN Resources is gearing up for a significant exploration push at its promising Cabin Lake gold project in Canada’s Northwest Territories, having successfully raised $3.75 million in a placement backed by sophisticated and professional investors. This substantial capital injection will fully fund the company’s maiden 1500-metre diamond drilling program, a technically driven initiative designed to unlock the project’s considerable high-grade gold potential.
The upcoming drilling campaign is strategically focused on confirming historical high-grade gold intercepts and systematically testing a series of priority targets. These targets have been meticulously defined through a recent reinterpretation of the project’s geology, comprehensive geophysical analysis, and the re-logging of historical drill core. The project lies within an underexplored banded iron formation corridor that stretches for an impressive 15 kilometres, offering a vast canvas for exploration.
Unlocking Cabin Lake’s Gold Potential
The Cabin Lake project is situated in a region with a well-documented history of significant gold mineralisation. FIN Resources is in the process of acquiring the project, with the sale and purchase agreement expected to be finalised by late February. The company’s management has highlighted that the 1500-metre diamond drilling program is now fully funded, covering all essential aspects including drill rig mobilisation, downhole geophysics, and associated fieldwork.
Beyond the immediate drilling costs, the raised funds will also be instrumental in supporting ongoing geological and geophysical interpretation. This will facilitate the refinement of future exploration targets and contribute to broader exploration efforts across FIN Resources’ entire landholding.
Historical Successes and Future Targets
The exploration potential at Cabin Lake is underscored by the impressive results from historical drilling. Recent resampling of historical core from the Arrow Zone prospect yielded exceptional grades, including a standout intercept of 31.4 metres at 15.2 grams per tonne of gold (g/t Au) from a depth of 17.49 metres.
Further historical drilling at the Arrow Zone also returned significant results, such as 13.9 metres grading 13.21 g/t Au from 28 metres. In the vicinity, the Beaver Zone prospect has historically delivered encouraging intercepts, including 6.4 metres at 3.65 g/t Au.
FIN Resources’ upcoming drilling program is not only aimed at confirming these historical successes but also at testing several “greenfield” targets. These new targets have been identified through coincident magnetic and induced polarisation responses, indicating potential mineralisation along strike and at depth. To date, the company has identified eight high-priority, fully permitted “walk-up” drill targets at Cabin Lake, ready for immediate testing.
Preparations Underway for Winter Drilling
To ensure the successful execution of the winter drilling program, FIN Resources has appointed Aurora Geosciences, a reputable geological and geophysical consulting firm with extensive experience at Cabin Lake, to manage the operations.
Logistical preparations are already in full swing. Site access and mobilisation activities are actively underway, including the crucial construction of a winter ice road. This ice road will provide essential ground access to the project area, the exploration camp, and the designated drill pads. Following this, the establishment of a workers’ camp and associated facilities will commence. The mobilisation of the drilling equipment and personnel is scheduled for later this month, with the drilling campaign anticipated to commence in early March.
This strategic investment and meticulous planning position FIN Resources to make significant progress in defining and potentially expanding the high-grade gold mineralisation at the Cabin Lake project. The company’s focused approach, combining historical data with modern exploration techniques, is set to deliver exciting results in the coming months.
