This brings the total number of recorded dengue cases in the region to 69 since surveillance efforts commenced. Fortunately, no fatalities have been attributed to the outbreak thus far.
The surge in dengue cases is attributed to prevailing environmental conditions that are highly conducive to mosquito breeding, a primary vector for the disease.
