Accra, Ghana – A prominent coalition of stakeholders in Ghana’s fertilizer sector has voiced significant concerns regarding the lack of transparency and detailed operational guidelines for the fertilizer component of the government’s ambitious “Feed Ghana Programme.” The Fertilizer Platform Ghana (FPG), a key industry body, has highlighted that while the program’s overarching goals of agricultural modernization, enhanced food security, and reduced import reliance are widely welcomed, the absence of clear directives on fertilizer supply is creating considerable operational hurdles.
The FPG emphasized in a recent statement that crucial players within the entire fertilizer value chain have not been sufficiently consulted or informed about the program’s implementation framework.
