Enova Mining Uncovers Promising Rare Earth Elements at East Salinas Project

Enova Mining (ASX:ENV) has revealed significant findings from its recent diamond drilling program at the East Salinas project in Brazil, identifying ion adsorption-style enrichment of rare earth elements (REEs). The initial assay results from four of the fourteen planned diamond holes have returned multiple intercepts of total rare earth oxides (TREO), with notable concentrations of neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr) found within the saprolite layer.

This discovery marks a crucial step forward for Enova, potentially unlocking a valuable resource with a processing pathway that could lead to lower development costs.

Key Findings from East Salinas Drilling

The diamond drilling program was specifically designed to test the rare earth mineralisation previously identified through surface sampling. The results have not only confirmed the presence of REEs but have also substantially enhanced the company’s understanding of the geological system at East Salinas.

• Continuity of Mineralisation: CEO Eric Vesel highlighted that the drilling has confirmed the continuity of REE mineralisation at depth. This continuity supports the project’s potential for magnetic REE deposits, a characteristic previously indicated by earlier geochemical surveys.
• Saprolite Enrichment: The strongest REE enrichment has been consistently found within the surface saprolite clays. Mineralisation has been present across all holes drilled to date, demonstrating a widespread occurrence.
• Broad-Scale Potential: The consistency and thickness of the saprolite layer intersected across targets spaced over approximately four kilometres suggest the possibility of extensive saprolite coverage. This broad distribution is a positive indicator for the potential scale of the deposit.

Positive Indications for Processing

Adding to the excitement, initial ion adsorption clay (IAC) leach test results suggest that the surface clays are amenable to low-intensity processing. This is a significant development, as it points towards a more cost-effective approach to extracting the valuable rare earth elements.

Mr. Vesel elaborated on the implications for the project’s advancement: “These results allow the company to progress the targeted auger drilling to define the extent of saprolite mineralisation and further assess metallurgical performance. The identification of ion adsorption style mineralisation at surface provides Enova with a clear and systematic pathway for advancing the East Salinas project.”

This clear pathway means Enova can now focus on defining the full extent of the mineralisation and optimising extraction methods, paving the way for potential future development.

Future Exploration at Charlie Creek

Beyond the promising results at East Salinas, Enova is also preparing for a deep diamond drilling program at its Charlie Creek project. This program will follow up on previously identified mineralisation with approximately 1% TREO grade. This mineralisation remained open at depth, as air-core drilling was unable to reach fresh bedrock to fully delineate its extent. The upcoming deep drilling aims to unlock the full potential of this deposit.

Enova Mining’s strategic exploration efforts are clearly focused on identifying and defining significant REE resources, with the East Salinas project now showing strong potential for a viable and cost-effective development.
