Weighing a staggering nine stone – a weight comparable to that of a cheetah – this colossal confection is set to be the star attraction at the beloved chocolate-themed attraction in Bournville, Birmingham.

The impressive dairy milk chocolate egg, measuring a substantial 70cm, is adorned with the instantly recognisable speckled, pastel pink, crisp sugar-coated shell. It will be on display for eager fans to marvel at from Monday until Sunday, April 12th. For context, a standard bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs typically weighs a mere 74 grams, highlighting the truly epic scale of this Easter creation.

The mammoth undertaking was brought to life over two days by a dedicated team of Cadbury World’s skilled chocolatiers: Claire Fielding, Dawn Jenks, and Donna Pitt. Their mission? To craft a showstopper that would capture the imagination and delight visitors.

“After the amazing reaction to last year’s gigantic Cadbury Creme Egg, we knew we had to craft something just as fantastic for 2026,” explained Ms Fielding, reflecting on the success of their previous oversized creation. Last year, Cadbury World wowed the public with a towering 90cm Cadbury Creme Egg, tipping the scales at 45kg and fashioned entirely from real chocolate. At the time, the chocolatiers likened its height to that of an emperor penguin, a testament to their ambitious creations.

Ms Fielding further elaborated on the inspiration behind the Mega Mini Egg: “Cadbury Mini Eggs are another absolute favourite and a British Easter staple, so creating the Mega Mini Egg felt like the perfect next challenge. We took that instantly recognisable shell and chocolate centre and scaled it up into a real showstopper. It’s been so rewarding seeing it come to life, and we can’t wait for visitors to come and see it in person this Easter.”

The creation process involved intricate detailing to replicate the beloved Mini Egg’s signature look. The team meticulously worked to ensure the proportions and iconic speckled finish were perfectly captured on a grand scale.
