A wave of sorrow has swept through the community following the tragic discovery of Orinta Narbutaite, a 32-year-old mother, at a caravan park in Milton, Nottinghamshire. Ms Narbutaite was found in Main Street in the early hours of March 20, prompting a significant police investigation.
The profound loss has been articulated by Ms Narbutaite’s grieving family, who have released a heartfelt statement expressing their deep sadness and remembering her as a cherished individual. Their words paint a picture of a woman whose kindness, dignity, and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
A Compassionate and Strong Presence: The family’s statement highlighted Ms Narbutaite’s compassionate nature and quiet strength. She possessed a remarkable ability to offer comfort and support, and her presence was often described as bringing a sense of calm and reassurance to those around her. Her genuine care and respect for others were defining characteristics, making her a valued member of the community.
A Loving Mother Above All: Perhaps the most poignant aspect of Ms Narbutaite’s life, as emphasised by her family, was her role as a mother. She was described as a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, whom she cherished deeply. Her love, guidance, and unwavering dedication as a parent are seen as a lasting and significant part of her legacy.
The family concluded their statement with a powerful message of remembrance: “Orinta Narbutaite will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
Following the discovery of Ms Narbutaite’s body, Nottinghamshire Police launched a murder investigation. Detective Inspector Matt Scott, leading the inquiry, conveyed the force’s deepest sympathies to Ms Narbutaite’s family and friends, acknowledging the immense difficulty of this period and respecting their request for privacy.
DI Scott also addressed the matter of online speculation, urging the public to rely on official updates from the force as the investigation progresses. This statement aims to curb the spread of unverified information that can often arise during sensitive cases.
In connection with the ongoing investigation, two men have been charged. Donatas Noreika, aged 37, and Arturas Karvelis, aged 45 (also known within the community as Arturas Bockus), have been formally charged with conspiring to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a body.
Both Noreika and Karvelis have been remanded in custody. Their next appearance is scheduled to take place at Nottingham Crown Court on April 20, where further proceedings in the case will be addressed.
Nottinghamshire Police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist their investigation into Ms Narbutaite’s death.
The investigation continues, and the community remains united in its grief and in its hope for answers.
