The entertainment landscape is abuzz with the meteoric rise of two young actors, Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, whose electrifying performances have captivated audiences worldwide. While their initial surge to fame came from their roles as ice hockey adversaries Ilya Rosanov and Shane Hollander in the popular Crave series, a gay hockey romance based on Rachel Reid’s acclaimed book series, their individual career trajectories are now charting exciting new territories. Following their sensational portrayal of rivals entangled in a secret, years-long relationship, both Storrie and Williams have been catapulted into the stratosphere of celebrity, gracing the Golden Globes, attending high-profile fashion events, making memorable late-night talk show debuts, and even carrying the Olympic torch.
With the highly anticipated Season 2 of Heated Rivalry slated for a Spring 2027 release, fans are eager to see what the dynamic duo will tackle next. Beyond their shared success, both actors are independently embarking on ambitious new projects, solidifying their status as rising stars with diverse and compelling roles.
Canadian-born Hudson Williams is demonstrating remarkable versatility, continuing his collaboration with Crave for a new half-hour drama series titled Yaga. This project delves into the enigmatic myth of Baba Yaga, a prominent figure in Slavic folklore often depicted as a witch.
The 25-year-old actor is set to share the screen with a stellar cast, including Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), and Clark Backo (Letterkenny). The eight-episode series, adapted from a play by Kat Sandler, who also serves as writer and showrunner, promises a captivating narrative.
The official synopsis reveals a compelling plot: Rapp (Noah Reid), a private investigator, arrives in a secluded coastal town to probe the disappearance of Henry Park (Hudson Williams), the young heir to a formidable fishery. His investigation quickly embroils him in a complex web of conflict with a guarded local detective, Carson (Clark Backo), a charming university professor with a penchant for younger men, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss), and a host of enigmatic suspects. The narrative is further enriched by layers of secret lives and ancient magic, suggesting a rich tapestry of storytelling.
Williams’ impressive slate doesn’t end there. In November, he announced his involvement in Netflix’s upcoming limited series, The Altruists. In this project, he will portray Duncan Rheingans-Yoo, starring alongside Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle.
The streamer’s synopsis outlines the series’ core narrative: it centres on Sam Bankman-Fried (Anthony Boyle) and Caroline Ellison (Julia Garner), two exceptionally bright and driven young idealists who attempted to revolutionise the global financial system with unprecedented speed, only to face accusations of embezzling $8 billion.
Most recently, Williams has been confirmed to star in the dark comedy thriller Apparatus, sharing the screen with Dylan O’Brien. According to reports, Apparatus follows Tyler (Williams), a struggling rideshare driver who becomes entangled with JP (O’Brien), a charismatic self-styled entrepreneur. JP offers Tyler a seemingly golden opportunity within his handheld massager business, but this dream prospect soon deteriorates into a violent downward spiral for Tyler as JP’s true intentions are revealed.
Connor Storrie is reportedly in discussions to join the cast of A24’s upcoming comedy, Peaked. The film boasts an impressive ensemble, featuring Molly Gordon, Allie Levitan, Emma Mackey, Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, Levon Hawke, Mitra Jouhari, and Gabby Windey. Gordon and Levitan are also attached as executive producers.
Details regarding Storrie’s specific role in Peaked have not yet been disclosed. Production for the project is slated to commence this month. The film’s plot synopsis centres on “the two girls who traumatized you in high school as they try to relive their glory days at their 10-year reunion.”
Furthermore, it appears Storrie is set to make an appearance in an episode of the long-running procedural drama Criminal Minds. This potential casting was hinted at by actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who shared a photograph of herself with Storrie at the Golden Globes and alluded to his upcoming role. “We’re gonna be in an episode of Criminal Minds together soon, too! That’s how we met!” she commented in response to a fan query.
Storrie’s growing profile was further cemented by his successful hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on February 28, with musical guest Mumford & Sons accompanying him.
The journey of Storrie and Williams from the intense world of fictional ice hockey rivals to individual, high-profile acting projects underscores their considerable talent and burgeoning influence in the entertainment industry. Their continued success is a testament to their dedication and the compelling narratives they are bringing to life.
