Princess Catherine made a stunning appearance at an official state banquet held at Windsor Castle, where she donned one of her most cherished tiaras. This event was part of a significant occasion that brought together the British royal family to honor the Nigerian President and his wife.

As the guests arrived at the castle, Princess Catherine was joined by Prince William, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, as well as Prince Edward and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The Princess of Wales captivated attention in a beautiful emerald green gown designed by Andrew Gn, complemented by the diamond and pearl Lover’s Knot Tiara. This particular tiara has a rich history, having been inherited by Queen Elizabeth before being passed on to Princess Diana. Its association with the People’s Princess is so strong that it has become closely linked with her legacy.

Princess Catherine wasn’t the only royal to delve into their historical wardrobe. Princess Anne was seen wearing an ivory coat that had previously been worn in 1969. The original design included an embellished collar that matched the sleeves, but it appears the garment has been modified over time.

Queen Camilla also made a striking appearance, donning a sapphire and diamond tiara that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth. She paired it with a cream embroidered gown, showcasing her elegant style.

Beyond the royal attire, this state banquet marked a historic moment for the British monarchy. The royal family hosted Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, first lady Oluremi Tinubu, during what was the first state visit by a Nigerian leader in 37 years. Additionally, it was the first time a Muslim leader had visited the UK during Ramadan in nearly 100 years. In respect to the holy month, the formal luncheon that is typically held was skipped.

Notable figures from both Nigeria and the British-Nigerian community were present at the banquet. Prince William entered the event alongside Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, while Princess Catherine was accompanied by Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Adebayo Olawale Edun.

Earlier in the day, the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife at the Windsor hotel. Princess Catherine looked particularly sophisticated in a grey blazer coat dress designed by British-Nigerian designer Toly Coker.
