The team organized a special retirement ceremony for Yang during the final home game of the regular season against Pepper Savings Bank, which ended in a 1-3 loss at Suwon Gymnasium on the 8th. Yang, who made her professional debut in 2007 and remained with Hyundai Engineering & Construction throughout her career, will retire after this season.

Yang is widely regarded as a “legendary” middle blocker, holding the all-time records for most points (8,392) and most blocks (1,744) in the V-League, which includes both men’s and women’s divisions. Her achievements have earned her recognition as a V-League All-Star a record 17 times. Under her leadership, Hyundai Engineering & Construction secured three league titles in 2011, 2016, and 2024.

In addition to her club success, Yang was a key member of the national team. She played a crucial role in helping South Korea reach the semifinals at the 2012 London and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
