RM1.3mil for smart classroom upgrades at 38 schools

THE Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) and its group of companies marked the successful completion of the Sekolah Angkat Madani programme after channelling RM1.3mil in contributions to 38 schools within Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) camps nationwide.

The programme’s success was celebrated by LTAT chief executive Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi together with senior executives from LTAT and Irat Hotels & Resorts Sdn Bhd at SK Tanjung Pengelih and SMK Tanjung Pengelih in Pengerang, Johor.

The nationwide effort had benefitted more than 24,000 students, a majority of whom are children of MAF personnel.

At the Tanjung Pengelih primary and secondary schools, the programme focused on smart classroom enhancements.

These upgrades included infrastructure, digital teaching tools, classroom ergonomics and student-centred facilities.

The delegation from LTAT and Irat also visited a special educational needs classroom at SMK Tanjung Pengelih where Mohammad Ashraf presented a mock cheque on behalf of Irat to symbolise the contribution of four additional air-conditioning units.

About RM100,000 was invested in both schools.

The visit also highlighted the strength of collaboration within the MAF community, with support from Kem KD Sultan Ismail – the naval base in Tanjung Pengelih, and sponsorship by Irat.

The event was also attended by the camp’s commanding officer Capt Hazlan Hazumi and Kota Tinggi District Education Office representatives.

Mohammad Ashraf said, “The completion of Sekolah Angkat Madani across 38 schools is not the end of a programme; rather, it is a statement of belief.

“A belief that every child of our servicemen and women deserves an environment that inspires learning, confidence and ambition.

“When we invest in education, we invest in futures.

“This initiative is about building strong foundations of character, opportunity and hope so the children of those protecting our nation can dream bigger and go further.

“Together, we are shaping schools that are not only better equipped, but ready for tomorrow.”

Across Malaysia, LTAT and its group of companies had adopted a holistic approach that included infrastructure and classroom upgrades, digital and IT enhancements, inclusive learning initiatives, mental welllbeing support, and community-based engagement.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring that schools within military camps remain conducive, resilient and future-ready to meet the evolving needs of students and educators.

The Sekolah Angkat Madani initiative was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in June 20 last year as a national effort to strengthen education, social well-being and community resilience.

Carried out in partnership with 14 companies, LTAT’s involvement reflected a collective commitment to enhancing and empowering schools.
